I don't believe in defunding the police, in fact I think that's a really stupid idea. I do, however, believe that we don't need to be policed at the level that we currently are. Any system that makes part of its money by fining its citizens is faulty at its core and needs to be changed. There should not be any incentive to arrest and/or fine people other than safety. All fine money should be donated to unrelated causes and all expenses should be paid by taxes.
